| On a cold and wet day at Holme Park, Reading Played Witney an unknown and
untested by our Reading team. Reading started off well and kept possession of the
ball for the first 10 minutes of the game. The forwards who consisted of Nathan
Cross, Tom Everett, Ryan forester, Tom O’Rourke and Charlie Dean kept on the pressure.
A loose ball not scooped up by Reading gave the away side the lead. |
| The opposition had a good outside centre and winger who ran past Reading
scoring 8 Try’s and caught Reading chasing the ball. A couple of good tackles by Ryan
Forester saved Reading, and stopped Witney scoring a couple more. The ball was wet
and the weather cold which stopped the backs of Sam brown, Luke Nichols, James Few,
Charlie Nicol and George Withers from making the most of the ball that they had.
The ball didn’t reach the hands of wingers James Perry and Michael Irvine enough
form them to make an impression in the game. |
| Full back Jack Taylor in the second half gave chase to a deep ball kicked
by Witney and managed to scoop it up and regain 15 meters back in play. He also gave
chase to one of the largest players in opposition and almost prevented one of the
try’s from being scored but from that had to come off injured. |
| The man of the match was given to Ryan Forester for his commitment and
good tackling where it counted. |
